Here, he speaks with another notable thinker on the Left, Chris Hedges. They discuss Panitch’s book, The Making of Global Capitalism: The Political Economy of American Empire (2012), in which Panitch quotes Harold Innis:
“American imperialism has been made plausible and attractive, in part, by the insistence that it is not imperialistic.”
