MaloCoverWikiUserLUMPENPROLETARIAT   This classic lowrider oldie has been called the Chicano National Anthem.  It was recorded in my hometown of San Mateo, California.  If memory serves, someone in our circle of family and friends used to do housecleaning for this house and remembered about the recording studio there.  Maybe Chema or RDM can refresh our memories.

“Suavecito” hit #18 on the national pop singles chart in the USA in 1972.  That same year, Malo’s eponymous debut Chicano masterpiece peaked at #14 on the pop album chart in the USA.
