LUMPENPROLETARIATβ[Sunday, 17 APR 2022] Here are some of today’s media notes to help us track and make sense of this plandemic dystopia we all find ourselves living through in the 2020s. (Please see below, after this commentary and after today’s salient observations, for samples of todayβs news cycle.) To avoid what cognitive scientist Prof. John Vervaeke calls modal confusion (c. 11:00), to avoid parasitic processing and negative feedback loops, to help us overcome perspectival clashes, we differentiate the having mode from the being mode. So, we might invoke sati, or deep remembering. Meditation helps. The most common and simplest form of meditation is listening to music. The arts and the humanities help us preserve our humanity, help us return to the being mode, when we, otherwise, may get stuck in the having mode, whether having lots of material things or social status or ideas.
Run The Jewels (RTJ), yola, and Swedish House Mafia/The Weeknd delivered excellent sets on various stages throughout the 2022 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Yesterday (Saturday), standout performances included girl in red. It’s important to interact with different types of consciousnesses, hence music festivals, despite contradictions of art-for-profit versus art-for-art’s-sake. “Shout out to Mr. Checkpoint. Always film the police.” Killer Mike offered, before launching into a blistering performance of “Walking In the Snow”. When other artists were fretting about the lumpenproletarians stealing copies of their music online, RTJ was basically giving it away online, all the while creating value whilst building value and building stock.
Meanwhile, the American power elite continue to wage class warfare from above against the working class, as they continue with their controlled demolition of the economy (accelerated by the police state lockdowns), the erasure of human rights, and their collusion with the global power elite in cultivating the totalitarian impulse. All of this is happening within the context of global institutions superseding the power of nation states. (cf. Lynn Fries, Pat Mooney, et al. Lynn Fries had an excellent evidence-based video over an hour in length, I think, from circa mid-2020, which discussed the technocratic institutions and global institutions, which are superseding the power of nation states. I was unable to find the video on theAnalysis.news YouTube Channel. In fact, the channel seems to have deleted all their 2020 content, if the content wasn’t deleted by YouTube. Here’s a similar Lynn Fries article, with a video included: “The 2021 Corporate Bamboozle On World Food Systems” by Yves Smith, naked capitalism, 19 JUN 2021.)

LIVESTREAM > Coachella, Channel 2(?) (20:15 PDT) > Ali Gatie
NOTES: first-time listen. sappy love songs by an Iraqi-Canadian dude. (also pop/rock) it seems some areas of society are in affirmative action mode; so, sappy love songs are now ‘in’ at Coachella? wasn’t Coachella about alternative music once? perhaps, the ‘curators’/investors couldn’t find an edgier Western Asian to round out Coachella’s 2022 United Colors of Benetton approach to curating this year’s line-up.

β
LIVESTREAM > Coachella, Channel 1, Coachella Stage (main stage) (22:30 PDT) > Swedish House Mafia/The Weeknd
NOTES: this singer is popular. (dramatic and conflicted lyrics.) and he’s been around for a while now. notably, he kept commenting throughout his set things like, ‘I love you Coachella!’, ‘Do you know how much I love you, Coachella?’, and things like, ‘Coachella, you know I will always have your back ‘cos you have my back.’ the fans, of course, took it personal and rejoiced in ecstacy. my reading of it was more like dog-whistling to the Coachella gods in the hopes of more quick paychecks. reportedly, Kanye West cancelled his scheduled performances at Coachella. so, The Weeknd was more than happy to pick up the lucrative day labor.
β
LIVESTREAM > Coachella, Channel 3, Gobi Tent (23:30 PDT) > Belly
NOTES: hip-hop. “I’m not wearing a mask anymore. I’m sick of it.” | ‘I haven’t been on stage in four years. I promise you; this is the best night on stage of my life.’

N.B.: The embedded link in the word fragment “LUMPE” in the heading above is to a Wikipedia link, which used to feature a better definition than the one displayed circa 18 FEB 2022. Here is the introductory paragraphs, before it is further edited or corrupted:
Lumpenproletariat (/ΛlΚmpΙnproΚlΙͺΛtΙΙriΙt/) refers β primarily in Marxist theory β to the underclass devoid of class consciousness.[1] Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels coined the word in the 1840s and used it to refer to the unthinking lower strata of society exploited by reactionary and counter-revolutionary forces, particularly in the context of the revolutions of 1848. They dismissed the revolutionary potential of the Lumpenproletariat and contrasted it with the proletariat.
The Social Democratic Party of Germany made wide use of the term by the turn of the century. Vladimir Lenin (1870β1924) and Leon Trotsky (1879β1940) followed Marx’s arguments and dismissed the revolutionary potential of the group, while Mao Zedong (1893β1976) argued that proper leadership could utilize it. The word Lumpenproletariat, popularized in the West by Frantz Fanon‘s The Wretched of the Earth in the 1960s, has been adopted as a sociological term. However, what some consider to be its vagueness and its history as a term of abuse has led to some criticism. Some radical groups, most notably the Black Panther Party and the Young Lords, have sought to mobilize the Lumpenproletariat.
