Let’s learn together and find solutions together. Let’s build working class solidarity. Let’s build human solidarity. Holy crap! An update on the global power elite’s antidemocratic push to impose programmable, totalitarian central bank digital currencies on the world comes to your author’s nearest Federal Reserve bank. This is part of, at minimum, a decades-long move by the power elite to eliminate cash currency, to push the working-class, to push society towards a cashless society. The San Francisco Federal Reserve bank, one of the banks within the U.S. Federal Reserve banking system, has taken major steps towards pushing Central Bank digital currencies (CBDCs) on the American people. And, mind you, this is being done without the informed consent of the American people. Most people probably don’t even have a clue this is coming. Sweet Jesus. Lord, have mercy. This is truly terrifying.

Wolin; Chris Hedges; Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.; Prof. Mattias Desmet; et al. But what’s lacking is what’s usually lacking from liberals (i.e., pro-capitalists or non-anti-capitalists): class analysis. Martin Wolf’s critique of socialism, claiming ‘We’ve tried it and it has always failed…’, doesn’t really hold up because he is citing simplistic, canned neoclassical arguments, such as a ‘lack of incentives’ and a ‘lack of market signals’ and whatnot. But he is leaving out the CIA’s and MI6’s covert and not-so-covert global war against the left, even against pro-nationalist governments, like Indonesia and Vietnam and Laos and Latin America, not to mention assassinations against their own people, like Malcolm X; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; Fred Hampton; the Philadelphia bombing of the MOVE house; the assassination of JFK and RFK, and on and on; Operation Mockingbird; Operation Paperclip; and on and on. So, it’s not really fair to say, ‘It’s been tried,’ when there has been all this violence and mayhem and killing of millions by proxy, overthrowing governments, coups d’état; and so on. Also, there has been economic warfare, so-called ‘economic sanctions’ and boycotting of socialist nations. So, no, Martin Wolf, I wouldn’t say it’s as simple as you say, sir. But your author does appreciate his recognizing that capitalism has been in trouble since the Global Financial Crisis of 2007/08. But your author would challenge him to read Prof. William K. Black and white-collar crime or corporate fraud, read Dr. L. Randall Wray, read Hyman Minsky’s Instability Hypothesis to understand that the instability of capitalism goes back much further. Also, Martin Wolf conflates economic systems with political systems, for example, claiming that ‘in a truly socialist system, the state controls everything,’ which is not true. The political system of a nation, i.e., the role of the state, can be authoritarian or libertarian, in a capitalist economic system or a socialist system. For example, Stalin and Hitler, both authoritarian, but one is socialist and the other capitalist. Also, Martin Wolf ignores the fact that China is not as capitalist as he assumes. Maybe he can call it state capitalism; but corporations do not rule China, like they do in the US or UK. China is socialism with Chinese characteristics. Meanwhile, in the US and UK, the state pretty much ‘controls everything,’ too. But the state has been captured by bankers and corporations, who basically, control everything. The democratic illusion he sees, the swinging back and forth between a liberal (i.e., pro-capitalist or non-anti-capitalist) party and a conservative (i.e., pro-capitalist or non-anti-capitalist) party is mere political theater. That is his beloved ‘transfer of power’ between two wings of the same beast, Wall Street or the City of London’s global financial centre. So, he is wary of the looming inverted totalitarianism, but his lack of understanding of the fundamental contradictions of capitalism seem to keep him stuck in a certain ideological limbo, from which he’s unable to imagine an alternative to the capitalism, which is producing the authoritarianism against which he is warning. | Fortunately, the astute interviewer (c. 20min 30sec), asks about these very contradictions: ‘Sticking with the UK, if we look at the current economic picture, with its stagflation, widening inequality, reduction in living standards (all of which resembles the USA), surely, it doesn’t follow to say that the answer to these problems is the thing that led us down this road. Does it?’ Martin Wolf’s response was typical of liberals (i.e., pro-capitalists or non-anti-capitalists): reformism and tinkering around the edges, citing technological unemployment and hoping capitalists will share more of the profits. It was good he criticized “rent extraction”, the rent-seeking behavior of the rentier sector. But he offered no meaningful challenges to that. Martin Wolf and interviewer would have benefites immensely from having one or two more interlocutors, such as Dr. Michael Hudson and Dr. Radhika Desai, for example. Martin Wolf’s analysis lacked an acknowledgement of geopolitics and geopolitical economy. He treats nations almost as abstract islands, which stand or fall on their own ideas, not as subjects of global imperial centers. This is a truly disappointing response, naïve, unpersuasive, flimsy. I still listen to DN!, but when I do so I know they’re lying to me half the time, like Lewis Lapham said about reading The New York Times. The problem with liberals (i.e., pro-capitalists or non-anti-capitalists) at Pacifica Radio is that they believe everything they read in the NYT. Or they want to believe. And, you know they do, because they quote it uncritically, amplify establishment narratives on the air. Most Pacifica Radio liberals interview their pundits, along with others from equally deceptive state rags, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. But all we, listeners, get are softball questions and shallow politics. The job of the journalist is to challenge the power structures and institutions of society. Instead of finding the sound experts, who make sense, Pacifica Radio’s liberal pundits confuse us, listeners, with conflicting conclusions, that don’t conclude. One day, Mitch Jeserich seems to understand how the monetary system works, when he’s on air with Prof. Richard Wolff. Later, when Mr. Jeserich is on air with a non-economist from The Wall Street Journal, we’re backsliding, speaking as if we’re still on a gold standard, or if money is a finite resource, which the U.S. must borrow from other nations. It’s bizarre. From Letters and Politics to UpFront to Democracy Now!, there appears to be a willful ignorance, a determination to forget all past lessons, to force KPFA and Pacifica Radio listeners, who are seeking truth and socioeconomic justice and legal justice and political justice toward the goal of peace on Earth, to perpetually reinvent the wheel, to perpetually have to re-establish basic truths, such as the fundamental contradictions of capitalism, such as the fact that capitalism and democracy are incompatible. The goal of liberals is to stifle all ideas, information, and perspectives of everyone to the left of them, which is to say to stifle anti-capitalist tactics and strategies for a non-capitalist economy, or an economy without corporations, which are not democratically operated by the workers. | Instead of finding the sound experts, who make sense, Pacifica Radio’s liberal pundits confuse us with conflicting conclusions from day to day, even hour to hour. There is no cohesion, no collaboration. One hour, Dr. Gary Null airs respected world-class doctors dissenting before Congress on the state-corporate COVID-19 policies. And the next hour, Leonard Lopate will gaslight everyone by uncritically repeating and amplifying the state-corporate COVID-19 policies and narratives, as if there is nothing wrong. | Why is it that Mr. Lopate, Mr. Jeserich, Mr. Edwards-Tiekert, et al are allowed to gaslight everyone, to distort reality, for example, to operate under the false presupposition that the PCR test is a valid diagnostic test, when its inventor Dr. Kary Mullis said it is not, when the PCR test was never intended to be a diagnostic test, and when the PCR test is used as a diagnostic test, results are prone to error. This error rate increases as the magnification cycle threshold is increased. None of this is explained to the listeners, who are kept in the dark by the establishment narrative-pushers. For some reason, establishment ideologues have taken power of editorial news boss positions, which seems to force other, more honest, Pacifica Radio broadcasters to bite their tongue about the COVID-19 issue. It’s a pity. (A few notable exceptions, Pacifica Radio programs, which dare to be honest about COVID-19, are The Gary Null Show (WBAI), Mindfield (WBAI), Covid, Race & Democracy (WPFW, WBAI).)
[ 2 ] Jeez, this show’s still going? They ain’t even got David Gans no more. He’s a made man in KPFA terms, a loyal partisan. I remember Mr. Gans writing partisan propaganda in favor of the reformist Democrat faction at KPFA, with money, and their patronage system, against all grassroots people trying to participate on the free speech airwaves. But when other shows, which serve black and brown people or working class people, low income people, not just boozhie liberals, they get cut quick, even banned, like JR Valrey, on bogus charges.
