LUMPENPROLETARIAT—It’s always good times hanging out with Doug Benson.
Doug Benson performed, and recorded, an episode of his podcast, Doug Loves Movies at Cobb’s Comedy Club in San Francisco on New Year’s Eve. Benson brought out a panel of comics, including Greg Proops, Chad Daniels, Geoff Tate, and Jacob Sirof, to join him for some convivial discussion, banter, and games involving film. RDM and I were able to get front row seats by greasing the wheels of social relations ever so slightly. RDM & I had our name badges, which RDM had cleverly crafted for us both. But we weren’t selected by any of the comics on stage.
It’s always nice, and quaint, visiting that part of San Francisco. Cobb’s Comedy Club, of course, is just a few doors down from the historic Bimbo’s 365 Club, with its old school 1920s vibe. We ended up parking around the corner, which meant up the hill, just under the famously curvy Lombard Street, a scenic atmosphere, indeed.
