LUMPENPROLETARIAT—Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit is the debut studio album by Australian indie rock musician Courtney Barnett, released 23 March 2015 by Mom + Pop Music.  Our roving musical contributor has emphasised a lovely rocker modestly entitled “Pedestrian At Best”.

Among Barnett’s notable recordings is this excellent piece of music from her 2013 EP entitled “The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas”.  It’s called “Avant Gardener”:

And this groovy number, “History Eraser”, Courtney Barnett’s second EP entitled “How To Carve a Carrot Into a Rose”, performed with guest musicians Dan Luscombe (The Drones) on guitar, mellotron, and vocals.  The EP is mixed by Dann Hume (Alpine, Lisa Mitchell).

But this performance is a gem:  Courtney Barnett: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert
